A
little boy called James — with an UPDATE!
by Pat

Pat became
interested in complementary therapies about 14 years ago. She
initially qualified in Bach Flower counseling, Reflexology, massage,
Touch for Health, and owned a health food store. In 1990, while
looking for advanced Touch for Health training, someone suggested
an HK workshop with Jane Thurnell-Read. She says,“I attended
and knew immediately this was for me.” She goes on to say, “Of
course, at that stage I was not the person I am today. The last
seven years have been really tough and I know I would not have
gotten through them if I were not an HK practitioner. I have
great enthusiasm for my work. Clients always say this comes across
and I have made many lovely friends from my clients. Now that
I have moved on from my divorce, I am looking forward to further
developments in my work. I am so happy now!” Pat has recently
started teaching workshops helping people to develop their creativity
and intuition.*
In my HK practice,
I have been seeing a little boy called James. This is his story.
His mother asked at the end of her session with me one day if I
thought I could do anything to help James. I first saw him when
he was 15 months old. He is now two years old.
James’ birth
had been very much overdue. He was born with skin problems and
his nose had been squashed against his face because he had so little
space in the womb. The flattened nose was causing difficulties
breathing. His mother was convinced that there were additional
problems, but the medical doctors initially would not listen. I
started to work with James before she had any appointments at the
hospital. The first issue identified was “Problems surrounding
my birth.”
By the time James
came for his second session, his nose had straightened considerably
and the breathing was causing no further trouble. Also, a problem
he had with choking on his food had cleared up.
Further corrections
varied from having his hands in jelly for energy flow balancing
(he would not touch anything gooey before), to psychological corrections
on loving and accepting himself. Before the third session, his
mother phoned in great distress to say he had been medically diagnosed
as having a genetic problem they had called Anhidrotic Ectodermal
Dysplasia. Typical symptoms are: not being able to sweat, (therefore
not being able to control one's own body temperature), growing
very few and mostly deformed teeth, very sparse hair, skin problems,
and choking on food because saliva is not produced.
Over the time
I have been seeing James he is a changed little boy. He does now
sweat, much to the medical doctors’ amazement. He does not choke
on any of his food, including biscuits (cookies). His skin is very
much better and he no longer gets high temperatures. His hair is
getting thicker and although his mother was told they could not
find any signs of teeth, he has, at times, been teething
James also had
not seemed to show any affection for people or even keep a favorite
toy.All this has changed. Toys get cuddled and Dad gets a hug.
Everyone who knows James is astonished at the difference in him.
His parents are thrilled that HK has been able to do so much so
quickly.
Update
on James... and his baby brother!
February
2000
Pat
Ward continues to work with James as he grows.
Four teeth are now coming in and Pat says
she is trying to prepare his body for a second
set of teeth. They still battle from time
to time with eczema. Strangely, his mother
said she went into his room one night when
he was asleep and his skin was completely
clear. As soon as he was up and about, however,
the problem returned, mostly about the eyes.
Pat will continue to uncover the cause of
this with HK.
James
with a lovely, wispy head of hair!
One particular
piece of success was in James' coping mechanisms. He used to scream
upon approaching the hospital, probably because of all the unpleasant
tests he had experienced there. It was even worse when he went
to see the consultant. This distressed his mother, so she asked
Pat if corrections would help. Pat performed some and, during the
next visit to the hospital, James was as good as gold, and cooperated
in everything they wanted him to do.
Another wonderful
piece of news is that James now has a healthy baby brother. When
his mother became pregnant again, the Geneticist informed her that
there was a 99% chance that James' sibling would be born with the
very same condition. Pat used HK on James' mother while she was
pregnant, and the baby was born perfect. Pat herself does not take
credit for this, but James' mother says she's sure it was the HK.
