Description - part of the limbic system of the brain, involved in emotions and memory

Infarct, cortical, brain
Description - tissue death due to a local lack of oxygen in the cerebral cortex (outer layer that covers the cerebrum, functions chiefly in coordination of sensory and motor information)

Infarct, old, cerebellum
Description - an old area of tissue death due to a local lack of oxygen in the cerebellum (concerned especially with the coordination of muscles and the maintenance of bodily equilibrium)

Medulla oblongata
Description - lower part of brain stem; controls autonomic functions; relays nerve signals between the brain and spinal cord
Meningioma, brain
Description - common benign brain tumour that originates in the cells of the outer covering of the brain (meninges)

Alternative Name - juvenile astrocytoma
Description - a nerve-tissue tumor composed of astrocytes; the most common brain tumor in children

Sympathetic ganglion
Description - a group of nerve cell bodies either close to the spinal column or close to the large abdominal arteries
