"HK is
the most comprehensive system I have come across in my experience
with complementary therapies. Before I tried HK, I had tried many
therapies, including Homeopathy, Alexander Technique, reflexology,
nutrition, and others. No other system touched upon my whole being
like HK.
"When I accidentally ended up on an HK practitioner's couch in 1990, I had
had problems such as general malaise and fatigue, in addition to living in a
country I did not want to be living in. Nothing was really wrong, but nothing
was really right either. Although born and raised in the USA, Israel had been
my home for all my adult life and, in spite of making a conscious decision to
move to England 12 years ago with my second husband, I left two teenage boys
behind in Israel and was quite miserable being so far away from them. I had another
son in 1988, and just was not functioning up to par. HK changed all of that!
I was suddenly able to cope with the geographical distance between myself and
my sons and actually began to "have a life" in England with my wonderful
husband, Irvin.
"I decided HK was something that I can do too! With firm determination,
I took every HK, kinesiology, and related course available in the next few years.
With a background in art and business, I was able to create a flourishing practice
in London.
"In 1992, while on a course taught by Dr. Scott, I discovered that perhaps
there was even a way of reversing my autoimmune hypothyroidism— something
that conventional medicine considers "incurable," requiring replacement
drugs for the remainder of one's life. Over the years of having done energy work,
I have succeeded in reducing my intake of thyroxin to nearly nothing! I am convinced
that were I not a practitioner working with energy every day, I would have been
off thyroxin completely. But I know that my once "dead" thyroid gland
now functions well on its own, and have set no time limits for complete recovery.
"I decided to teach HK because there just are not enough people around using
this wonderful system! And what better excuse to see my sons and family in Israel,
than to travel there several times a year to teach HK to the Israelis, who are
very much into complementary therapies. I was authorized by Dr. Jimmy Scott to
teach HK in May 1995. Teaching has opened up a further dimension in my life.
I believe that people come together in each group for a reason, and each group
of students has been a learning experience for me as well.

Note:
Vivian was the HK representative on the Executive Committee of
the Kinesiology Federation in England from 1993 to 1998, acting
as Vice Chair for the last three years. She stood down to devote
more time to teaching. She just moved with her family to northern
California and will resume teaching HK Stages 1—5 both there
and in Israel.
